In a labour intensive industry, it is very difficult to have good and dedicated staff nowadays. If you managed to get one, the next question is whether you are able to retain them long term.

In recent years, it is very difficult to retain our neighbouring country worker once their work permit expired. There are two distinctive reasons why they choose to go back to their country to work. The first reason is today's exchange rate has narrowed and the next reason is the salary in the home country is very competitive compared to what we are offering locally.

Many plantation companies have succeeded to automate as much as possible the way they operate the business in the estates. However, there is a maximum capacity that you can automate in agriculture. You still require manual labour to do the estate jobs.

Do you know that we have conducted a study jointly with a Public Listed Palm Plantation company that uses GVW Soil Conditioner "iR30+A" and "iR30+B" and found the manpower results very staggering/ astounding.

There was a huge savings of up to 44% on manpower alone since the commencement of GVW Soil Conditioner versus the chemical fertiliser application. This represent a huge manpower cost savings when you extrapolate it to big areas within the company.
